Wallpaper - Color Burst

Our Color Burst wallpaper, created in collaboration with artist Silvia Vassileva, brings an energetic collision of vivid red poppies and soft sage green foliage to the wall. The composition captures the dynamic, expressive quality of layered oil paint brushstrokes, balancing bold botanical forms against an earthy backdrop. The free-flowing movement and painterly depth give this floral design an immediate presence in any living space. Like all of our wallpapers, it is produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the brushstrokes in Color Burst carry noticeable visual momentum and bold colour contrast, we find this design works exceptionally well on a broad, uninterrupted wall in a living room or behind a dining table. Giving the motif room to breathe allows the expansive floral gestures to read as a cohesive mural rather than feeling crowded.

In smaller spaces, such as an entryway, dressing room, or a dedicated home office, our mural wallpapers can turn a compact alcove or single feature wall into an expressive statement. If you are placing furniture against the wall, we suggest lower-profile pieces like a low sideboard, console table, or a simple headboard in a bedroom, which keeps the energetic poppy motif largely visible.

Styling it

To balance the expressive, painterly nature of this wallpaper, we like pairing it with furniture that has clean, grounded silhouettes. Mid-century modern sideboards in warm woods like teak or walnut complement the earthy base tones without competing with the dynamic brushwork.

For accompanying elements, we would look toward tactile, unpatterned textiles in natural linen or wool to keep the visual focus firmly on the wall murals. Simple ceramic table lamps, matte black metal accents, or understated brass details provide an elegant structural counterpoint to the organic, flowing poppy forms.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres around vibrant red and vermilion tones, counterbalanced by muted sage green, olive foliage, and warm, earthy neutrals in the background.

When choosing paint for adjoining walls or woodwork, we recommend echoing these softer supporting shades rather than matching the bright red. A gentle sage green on surrounding walls creates a harmonious, botanical feel that lets the poppies pop. Alternatively, warm off-white, oat, or light terracotta on trim and doors will pull out the rich undertones in the composition while keeping the overall room balanced and inviting.
