Wallpaper Murals for Meeting Rooms

The atmosphere in a meeting room does a lot of quiet work. It sets the tone before anyone speaks, and the right wallpapers can tip the balance between a space that feels sharp and purposeful or one that feels flat and forgettable. Getting that balance right comes down to understanding what the room is actually being asked to do.

Matching the Wallpaper to the Room's Purpose

For formal conference rooms and boardrooms, wallpapers in neutral or muted tones tend to work well. Soft greys, warm whites, navy and sage green are all solid options, particularly when paired with clean-lined furniture, oak or walnut tables, and minimal accessories. Subtle textures, tonal patterns and understated geometric designs are worth considering if you want something with a little more visual character while still keeping things professional. These kinds of wall murals help define the space without pulling attention away from the people in it.

In creative offices or more informal meeting spaces, there is more room to experiment. Mural wallpapers with abstract forms, soft architectural lines or nature-inspired motifs can add energy and give a room a distinct identity. These work particularly well alongside industrial materials like exposed concrete, steel details or raw timber, and can give even a compact meeting room its own personality.

Feature Wall or Full Room

A single feature wall is often the most practical approach in a meeting room setting. Placing the wallpaper on the wall behind a presentation screen, at the head of the table, or opposite the entrance gives the room a clear focal point without the design becoming visually overwhelming. This approach also makes it easier to introduce a bolder pattern or colour without committing it to all four walls, which can be worth considering in smaller meeting spaces where the room is used throughout the day.

For larger conference rooms with more wall space, running the wallpaper across two or more walls can give the space a more considered, designed feel, particularly when the pattern is relatively contained or the tones are kept restrained.

Keeping Smaller Meeting Rooms Feeling Open

Breakout spaces and smaller meeting rooms benefit from wallpapers that keep the space feeling open and uncluttered. Lighter backgrounds with open, airy motifs or simple line-based patterns tend to work better than dense, high-contrast designs in tight spaces. Mural wallpapers in soft gradient tones or minimal geometric patterns can add visual interest without making the room feel closed in, especially when the rest of the room uses light furniture and good artificial lighting.

If the meeting room connects visually to an open-plan office, it can also be worth thinking about how the wallpaper relates to the wider space. A consistent colour family or material palette can help the room feel like a natural part of the office rather than a disconnected afterthought.
