Wallpaper - Serene Garden III

Our Serene Garden III wallpaper, created in collaboration with artist Cheryl Warrick, combines soft organic poppy forms with layered geometric dots and painterly watercolor brushwork. What we particularly appreciate about this design is the balance between fluid botanical shapes and structured pattern, anchored by deep navy and lively accent tones against a gentle background. The composition carries a distinct retro, sixties-inspired character while remaining calm and composed across a full wall. Produced as made-to-measure, PVC-free wall murals with a subtle physical structure in the paper, this design brings an artistic and tranquil feel to any interior.

In the room

In a bedroom or a quiet guest room, we see this design working beautifully on the wall behind the bed, where the poppy motifs and soft painterly marks create a gentle backdrop without overwhelming the space. For a living room or open dining room, giving the wallpaper a wider, uninterrupted wall allows the balance of geometric dots and watercolor botanicals to be viewed as a cohesive work of art.

In more intimate areas, such as a study, home office, or entry hall, the layered detail offers visual interest even at closer viewing distances. We also like using these mural wallpapers in spaces dedicated to unwinding, like a reading corner, dressing room, or powder room, where the rhythmic pattern and deep navy tones provide character without competing with functional furniture.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture shapes clean and grounded so the artistic brushwork remains the focal point. Mid-century silhouettes or contemporary pieces with simple profiles complement the subtle retro rhythm of the poppies and dots without creating visual clutter.

For wood finishes, warm medium tones or lighter blonde woods help balance the deeper navy and saturated accents in the wallpaper. Choosing solid, unpatterned upholstery or drapery allows the intricate visual layers of the wall mural to stand out effortlessly.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper centres on deep navy and gentle neutral backdrop tones, enlivened by popping accent shades across the poppy petals and geometric dots. To create a harmonious space, we recommend pulling the softer neutral tones from the background onto adjacent painted walls and woodwork to maintain an open, cohesive atmosphere.

For a richer contrast, pairing the wallpaper with cabinetry, painted trim, or key furniture pieces in deep navy or muted charcoal echoes the darker elements in the motif. If you wish to bring out the lively character of the design, introducing small accents in warm rust, ochre, or terracotta through cushions or ceramics ties in naturally with the poppy tones.
