Wallpaper - Porto

Our Porto wallpaper captures the graphic glamour of 1920s poster illustration, depicting an elegant couple leaning in together over a glass held aloft by a small cherub. Rendered in warm orange, golden ochre and crisp off-white against an expansive charcoal black background, the design combines playful vintage charm with striking graphic contrast. The halftoned print character and stylized profiles create an immediate focal point, bringing retro character and vintage sophistication to an interior wall. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

We see this design working exceptionally well as a bold feature wall in a dining room, home library, or living room where you want to introduce a touch of vintage glamour. Because the motif is concentrated centrally with deep dark space surrounding the figures, it benefits from a dedicated, relatively uninterrupted wall where the complete composition can be appreciated without being heavily broken up by tall storage.

In smaller spaces like a powder room, entryway, or dressing room, the rich contrast creates an intimate, atmospheric feel. The dark background helps anchor the space, while the bright orange and warm amber tones of the illustrated faces bring a sense of conviviality and warmth.

Styling it

To complement the 1920s Art Deco aesthetic of our wall murals, we recommend pairing this wallpaper with rich materials and classic interior silhouettes.

• Choose darker wood finishes, such as walnut or stained oak, to echo the depth of the dark charcoal background and ground the surrounding furniture.
• Incorporate warm brass or antique gold accents through lighting fixtures, mirrors, or hardware to mirror the glowing ochre and amber hues in the artwork.
• Keep nearby upholstery and drapery in solid, textural fabrics like tailored wool or velvet, allowing the graphic lines of the mural wallpapers to remain the main visual feature.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by a deep charcoal black field, layered with warm apricot, orange, golden ochre, and soft cream highlights.

To create a cohesive interior, we suggest pulling the warm tones outward onto surrounding elements. Rich cognac, burnt terracotta, or deep amber accents on chairs and decorative accessories will visually connect with the figures. For adjoining painted walls or woodwork, a soft warm white or a muted neutral grey balances the high contrast of the illustration, while a daring charcoal trim can create an enveloping, sophisticated space.
