Wallpaper - Still Seas

In our Still Seas wallpaper, created by Courtney Prahl, a quiet coastal horizon emerges through layered blue tones, soft off-whites, and painterly brushstrokes. The broad horizontal composition balances the calm openness of the sea and sky with the textured feel of an abstract painted canvas. The gentle gradient between the deeper ocean blues and the lighter upper section gives the motif an uncluttered, serene presence across a wall. Printed as a made-to-measure design on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it brings an understated artistic character to your interior without overwhelming the room.

In the room

Because of its distinct horizon line and open visual structure, we especially like this design on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full breadth of the seascape can unfold. In a bedroom, placing it behind the headboard grounds the space with a calm, expansive backdrop that feels grounded yet airy. It also works beautifully along a living room feature wall or in a dedicated study or home office, where the cool palette and horizontal rhythm encourage a tidy, collected atmosphere. In areas like a dining room or guest room, the design easily accommodates low-profile furniture without losing its sense of depth.

Styling it

To complement the painterly texture and cool blue tones of our wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture and light, natural finishes.

• Choose blonde or light warm woods, like pale oak or ash, to gently warm up the cool ocean palette while keeping the overall setting bright.
• Introduce soft, unpatterned fabrics in off-white, oat, or muted linen tones for curtains and upholstery to let the artwork take centre stage.
• Keep wall decor and decorative accessories minimal, opting for simple stoneware or matte ceramics that echo the tranquil, coastal mood without visual clutter.

Colour combinations

Our design is built on a foundation of serene ocean blues, slate undertones, and soft creamy whites. To create a seamless transition around the room, we recommend pairing adjacent walls with soft chalky whites or pale mist greys. If you want a bit more contrast, deeper navy accents in cushions or dark-stained shelving will pick up on the lower layers of the water, while warm sand or bone tones on surrounding woodwork will keep the scheme feeling balanced and inviting.
