Wallpaper - New York Skyline III

In our New York Skyline III wallpaper, artist Avery Tillmon captures the iconic architectural silhouette of New York City through a fluid, sketch-like ink drawing. Set against a light, off-white background, the fine linear linework and delicate washes create a balanced graphic composition that feels expressive yet grounded. The open spacing between the buildings gives the architectural forms room to breathe across the wall, lending modern interiors an urban character without visual clutter. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We find that architectural sketches work best where the complete skyline can unfold without too many visual breaks. In a spacious living room, placing this design behind a low sofa allows the varied heights of the buildings to establish a clear focal point. The light ground makes it equally suited to a dedicated home office or study, where you want an engaging backdrop that remains calm during the working day. For narrower spaces such as an entryway or a hallway, the rhythmic horizontal sweep of the cityscape adds a sense of depth and perspective as you move through the space. In a bedroom, we would position it behind a headboard to frame the sleeping area cleanly.

Styling it

Because the linework carries a distinct graphic quality, we suggest pairing this design with furniture that has clean, uncomplicated silhouettes. Mid-century modern or contemporary pieces in warm wood tones, such as natural walnut or light ash, bring an organic balance to the monochrome ink drawing. We recommend keeping surrounding decorative objects relatively sparse so the wall mural reads like an expansive gallery illustration. Matte black metal lighting or simple framed prints in nearby areas will naturally echo the ink lines without overwhelming the room.

Colour combinations

Our design is built around crisp ink lines set against a clean, light off-white base. To maintain a refined and cohesive feel, we suggest painting adjacent walls in warm off-whites, pale stone, or soft greys that complement the background tone. If you prefer subtle contrast, darker charcoal or deep slate grey accents on woodwork, window frames, or upholstery will anchor the space while highlighting the graphic detail of the skyline.
