Wallpaper - October Meadow

Our October Meadow wallpaper brings a soft, atmospheric landscape into the home with the painterly character of an original oil study. Created by artist Julia Purinton, the design captures an open, golden field beneath a hazy sky, balancing warm rust and ochre tones with muted greens and a distant navy blue mountain ridge. The composition uses broad, fluid brushstrokes and gentle tonal transitions rather than sharp lines, giving the horizon a calm, expansive quality. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is straightforward to hang and easy to scale to your wall dimensions.

In the room

Because the horizon line rests in the lower third of the scene, this landscape format works exceptionally well across wider, uninterrupted wall areas. In a living room behind a low sofa or along a main wall in a dining room, our mural wallpapers create a broad sense of depth without overwhelming the surrounding architecture. We also like this design in a quiet bedroom behind the headboard or in a study where the soft contrast provides an earthy, grounded backdrop. For an entryway or hallway staircase, the painterly vista adds visual interest as you move through the space, especially in rooms that receive soft natural daylight where the warm ochre and cool blue layers interact naturally.

Styling it

We recommend styling this design with understated furniture that respects its traditional landscape feel:

• Choose warm, natural wood tones such as aged oak or walnut for tables and cabinetry, which harmonise with the golden field and rustic palette.
• Keep surrounding upholstery in simple, textured weaves like slubbed cotton or wool in cream, oatmeal, or muted olive to let the wall mural remain the primary visual focus.
• Select quiet decorative accents in dark patinated bronze or matte black iron to subtly echo the deeper navy tones along the distant mountain line.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper itself contains a rich, seasonal palette of golden amber, warm rust, muted olive greens, and deep navy along the horizon, set against a hazy neutral sky. When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and trim, we suggest leaning into soft off-white or light parchment tones to match the open sky area. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloping interior, a deep slate blue or earthy moss green taken directly from the landscape creates a striking, cohesive transition on adjacent walls or painted joinery.
