Wallpaper - Lake Retreat VI

Our Lake Retreat VI wallpaper brings a tranquil, scenic landscape indoors through a soft watercolour-inspired scene created by Silvia Vassileva. A rustic wooden dock extends into calm, still waters, framed naturally by tall pine trees on one side and a gentle shoreline tree on the other. Soft green hills and layered blue mountain ridges shape the distant horizon, while subtle light blue clouds drift across the upper sky. The typography phrase "Life is Better at the Lake" is lettered in earthy brown and blue tones, giving the composition a grounded, rustic character. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this scenic design working particularly well on a main feature wall in a living room, entryway, or holiday cottage. Because the artwork builds depth through layered hills, calm water, and distant mountains, it benefits from an open wall where the perspective has room to unfold naturally. In a living room, placing this wall mural behind a low-backed sofa allows the lake horizon and pine trees to remain fully visible. In an entryway or hallway, the central dock motif creates an inviting visual anchor as you step through the door.

Styling it

To complement the rustic, landscape character of this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture grounded and uncomplicated.

• Pair the scene with warm, natural timber furniture such as rustic pine or warm-toned oak to echo the wooden dock and earthy backdrop.
• Keep upholstered seating in soft neutral tones, like muted off-white or unbleached canvas, so the detailed landscape remains the focal point.
• Choose decorative accents in matte dark bronze or blackened metal, which naturally balance the crisp lines of the trees and lettering.

Colour combinations

The artwork centres on soft fern greens, earthy forest tones, quiet sky blues, and muted woody browns. When selecting paint colours for adjacent walls, skirting boards, or window trims, we recommend drawing from the lighter elements of the motif. A soft, pale grey-blue will continue the airy mood of the clouds, while a gentle warm off-white or subtle stone tone keeps the room bright and balanced alongside the deeper greens. For a cosier feel, a muted moss or fern green on surrounding woodwork creates a lovely, cohesive frame around the wallpaper.
