Wallpaper - Desert Wandering

Our Desert Wandering wallpaper, created by artist Pamela Munger, captures a tranquil desert landscape through expressive, painterly brushstrokes. Rolling hills and low mountain silhouettes in soft taupe, muted violet, and dusty earth tones rise beneath a pale, open sky, while gestural sweeps of desert green, ochre, and warm blush define the foreground scrub. The painted-looking texture and horizontal expanse give this landscape mural wallpaper a calm, airy atmosphere that brings an expansive sense of horizon into the home. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to your specific wall dimensions and is completely PVC-free.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working beautifully as an accent wall in a living room, dining room, or bedroom where its wide panoramic perspective can be appreciated across a main wall. Because the artwork is arranged horizontally, it sits naturally behind a low-backed sofa, a headboard, or a sideboard without losing the open sky and distant ridgelines above. In spaces with generous natural light, the soft transitions between sandy tones, mauve undertones, and olive greens show their subtle depth throughout the day. It also creates a serene backdrop for a quiet home office or reading corner where you want a gentle, uncluttered visual focus.

Styling it

To let the painted scenery remain the central feature of the room, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture and organic textures. Simple silhouettes in natural wood, such as light ash, bleached oak, or warm teak, echo the landscape’s earthy character without competing with its brushwork. Natural upholstery in unbleached cotton, rougher weaves, or soft wool creates an inviting dialogue with the artwork's visual texture. Ceramic lighting, understated earthenware, or matte black metal accents can provide a grounded touch that anchors the softer, painterly palette.

Colour combinations

The design features a nuanced palette of warm desert sand, muted blush, soft taupe, dusty violet, and sage to olive green, set against a pale off-white sky. Around the room, adjacent walls painted in warm off-white, chalky beige, or soft stone create a seamless, cohesive surrounding. For a slightly richer contrast, deeper olive green, muted clay, or warm biscuit tones drawn from the foreground brushstrokes work exceptionally well across larger textiles, accent seating, or painted woodwork.
