Wallpaper - Grenoble Skyline Blue & Bronze

Created by Michael Tompsett, this design brings the architectural silhouette of Grenoble into focus through an expressive watercolour-inspired treatment. Deep navy, indigo, and warm bronze tones blend across the city skyline, where crisp building outlines contrast with spontaneous paint splatters and textured washes along the base. Set against a clean white background, the horizontal composition balances open space with artistic detail. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and are completely PVC-free.

In the room

Because the skyline runs horizontally across the lower and middle sections of the composition, we find this wall mural works exceptionally well on wide, uninterrupted walls. In a living room or a study, placing it behind a low sofa, a credenza, or a desk allows the detailed architectural landmarks and paint splatters to remain fully visible without feeling crowded. The generous white space at the top keeps the upper portion of the room feeling open and airy, making it a natural fit for rooms with standard ceiling heights. For a home art studio or creative workspace, the expressive brush-look character adds visual energy without overwhelming the entire interior.

Styling it

We suggest keeping the surrounding furniture clean-lined and contemporary so the graphic detail of the city silhouette takes centre stage.

• Pair the deep navy and warm bronze tones with warm wood furniture or subtle brass metal accents to pick up on the warmer pigments in the motif.
• Choose lower-profile seating or shelving along the wallpapered wall so the bridge, towers, and fine line work stay clearly in view.
• Introduce textured textiles in off-white, navy, or soft ochre to echo the palette while maintaining a balanced, uncluttered atmosphere.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is anchored by rich navy blue, indigo, and deep teal, blended seamlessly with warm amber, ochre, and bronze highlights against a crisp white backdrop. On neighbouring painted walls, we recommend soft off-whites or pale cool greys to preserve the brightness of the negative space. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, taking a deep navy or warm charcoal onto adjacent walls or cabinetry creates a striking, moody backdrop that ties directly into the base of the skyline.
