Wallpaper - Magnolia on Cracked Linen

In our Magnolia on Cracked Linen wallpaper, created by Cheri Blum, a delicate white magnolia bloom rests against a warm tan background reminiscent of aged parchment and cracked plaster. The composition brings together gentle shading across the flower's petals and finely veined green foliage, creating a quiet botanical still life with a distinctive heritage feel. Earthy tones and subtle visual texture give the design a timeless, painterly depth that feels grounded and calm. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well in spaces where you want to introduce an artistic, contemplative mood without overwhelming the surroundings. In a dining room, our wallpaper makes a graceful focal point behind a dining table or sideboard, where the soft tan backdrop and botanical detail bring warmth to shared meals and evening gatherings. In a powder room or bathroom, the tranquil motif creates an inviting, characterful setting even across more compact wall areas. Because the composition balances open, textured ground with focused floral detail, it sits comfortably on a primary feature wall or within a recessed alcove where the artwork can be appreciated up close.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest leaning into its classic, weathered aesthetic with pieces that share its quiet elegance. Darker antique furniture or warm timber pieces work wonderfully against the tan backdrop, echoing the vintage character of the botanical subject. For upholstery and table linens, we would choose natural woven fabrics in undyed flax, oatmeal, or soft muted greens to complement the foliage without competing with the central bloom. Keeping surrounding decorative objects simple, such as glazed earthenware or aged bronze hardware, lets the artistic nuance of the motif remain the focal point of the space.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by a warm tan base with soft yellow undertones, balanced by the creamy white of the magnolia petals and the earthy greens of the leaves. For surrounding painted walls, skirting, and architraves, muted stone, creamy warm whites, or soft olive greens tie in naturally with the artwork. If you prefer a richer contrast, deep forest greens or warm umber tones can be drawn from the leaves and background cracking to frame the paper beautifully on adjoining surfaces.
