Wallpaper - Flowers of the Cactus Pink

Created by Mary Urban, our Flowers of the Cactus Pink wallpaper brings together playful, hand-painted botanical forms on a soft pastel pink ground. The composition weaves together stylised cactus-inspired blooms, curving vines, dainty rosettes, and whimsical foliage painted in cheerful shades of rose, lavender, soft teal, fresh leaf green, and sunny yellow. The fluid brushstrokes and gentle watercolour-like character give the floral repeat a charming, lively movement that feels lighthearted and expressive. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure and completely PVC-free, with a subtle physical structure in the paper that handles beautifully during hanging.

In the room

We love the gentle, imaginative energy of this floral design in spaces meant to feel cheerful and welcoming. It makes an enchanting backdrop in a nursery, toddler room, or children's playroom, where the dancing vines and colourful petals create a playful atmosphere without overwhelming the room. The soft pastel pink background also makes it a lovely choice for a whimsical bedroom, a cosy dressing room, or a bright bathroom. Because the repeat is balanced and mid-scale, it works just as nicely framing an accent wall behind a bed or cot as it does wrapping all four walls of a compact, light-filled space.

Styling it

When decorating around this wallpaper, we recommend echoing its relaxed, folk-inspired botanical charm with simple, honest materials. Natural light wood furniture, such as pale ash or birch, complements the warmth of the pastel ground without competing for attention.

To keep the overall scheme grounded, pair the wall with soft, unpatterned textiles in off-white, cream, or washed mint. Clean-lined, light-painted furniture pieces allow the intricate details of Mary Urban's painted flowers to stand out naturally as the visual focal point.

Colour combinations

The design centres on a pastel pink backdrop accented with shades of rose, purple, mint, soft teal, light olive green, and touches of pale yellow. When selecting paint colours for adjoining walls, woodwork, or built-in cabinetry, pulling directly from these softer secondary tones produces a beautifully coordinated look.

A gentle warm white or creamy ivory on the skirting boards and trim keeps the space crisp and bright. For a slightly richer contrast in surrounding furnishings or accessories, muted teal, dusty mauve, or soft sage green harmonise effortlessly with the illustrated foliage and petals.
