Wallpaper - Flutter

Our Flutter wallpaper by Deborah Revell brings an intimate, photographic focus to the gentle curves of an open book. Captured in close detail, the sweeping edges of aged paper fan out against a soft, diffused background, revealing subtle golden-yellow page trims and the warm amber weave of a textured book spine. The macro perspective transforms simple paper arcs into elegant, abstract waves of light and shadow. Printed as a made-to-measure mural on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it creates a quiet and distinctive focal point for the wall.

In the room

We find this design works exceptionally well in spaces dedicated to quiet focus, conversation, or reading. In a home office, study, or library corner, placing our Flutter wall mural on the main feature wall behind a desk or armchair instantly anchors the room without feeling cluttered. The soft blur in the upper composition provides generous breathing room, making it suitable for both compact studies and larger, open-plan living rooms where you want an artistic wall that remains calm.

Because the photographic composition features strong curved lines across the lower and middle ground, we recommend hanging it on a relatively wide, uninterrupted wall area. This allows the full sweep of the fanning pages to display without heavy visual interruption from tall storage units or high shelving.

Styling it

When styling around our Flutter design, we suggest leaning into comfortable, understated furnishings that complement its literary, warm tone. Low-profile seating in warm leather or brushed wool pairs naturally with the amber and ochre hues of the bookbinding.

To maintain balance, keep surrounding decor relatively minimalist. Clean-lined furniture in warm wood tones, such as teak or dark oak, grounds the golden tones in the image without competing with the curved forms of the pages. Soft, warm artificial lighting from a shaded floor lamp or targeted picture light brings out the subtle amber tones in the evening.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on warm amber, golden ochre, mellow cream, and a cool, soft-grey blurred backdrop.

When choosing paint colours for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, consider pulling from these gentle hues:

• Muted stone, warm ivory, or soft linen on adjoining walls keeps the space bright while mirroring the cream paper pages.
• Deeper caramel, cinnamon, or warm umber accents in textiles or joinery tie directly into the vintage cloth binding.
• Pale, desaturated grey-blue or soft moss green provides a quiet, complementary contrast inspired by the cool, soft-focus background.
