Wallpaper - Autumn Grass Dark Green

Created by Avery Tillmon, our Autumn Grass Dark Green wallpaper brings an expressive, painterly study of wild meadow grasses onto the wall. Rendered with the translucent fluidity of watercolour, upright blades and delicate stems rise from the base in layered strokes of fern, moss, deep green, and soft earthy ochre against a pale, breathable backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between fine fluid splatters and broader, diluted washes, giving the composition an open and artistic rhythm. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making them straightforward to hang in any room.

In the room

Because the botanical stems rise vertically with plenty of open space above, we see this working exceptionally well as a feature wall behind a low headboard in a bedroom or on a main wall in a calm meditation space. In a bathroom, the watery greens and light background create a fresh, airy atmosphere across a wider, uninterrupted wall area. The vertical flow of the grass blades also suits rooms with standard ceiling heights, drawing the eye upward while keeping the upper half of the wall light and uncluttered.

Styling it

The delicate watercolour quality calls for an interior that feels gentle and grounded rather than overly structured. We would pair our mural wallpapers with understated contemporary furniture in light wood, such as ash or pale oak, to echo the organic nature of the grass stems. Unbleached linens, soft woven cotton throws, and simple ceramic pieces complement the painterly texture without competing with the detailed brushwork. Keeping surrounding furnishings relatively low ensures the full height of the painted blades remains visible across the room.

Colour combinations

Our design is built on a natural spectrum of green tones, ranging from deep forest and rich fern to diluted sage, accented by subtle touches of warm ochre and pale moss. For adjoining walls, we suggest matching the pale, creamy off-white found in the background of the design to maintain an expansive and unified look. If you prefer more contrast, grounding accents in deep olive green or warm clay on larger textiles and painted trim pick up the darker strokes in the artwork naturally.
