Wallpaper - Oil Mountain, Blues

Our Oil Mountain, Blues wallpaper presents a sweeping mountain landscape rendered in fluid, painterly layers of sky blue, soft white, and cool misty tones. Designed by Irina Chikati, the motif captures rolling peaks through broad oil-paint-inspired brushstrokes that gently dissolve into an open, airy sky. The composition carries a dreamlike, atmospheric quality, balancing horizontal movement with gentle vertical ridges. Printed as made-to-measure wallpaper on a subtly structured paper surface, this PVC-free design brings a peaceful and expansive mood to residential interiors without dominating the room.

In the room

We see this wall mural working particularly well in spaces where you want a calm, uncluttered atmosphere, such as a bedroom, home study, or dedicated meditation space. Because the landscape builds from deeper blue mountain layers at the lower edge toward a lighter, hazy upper portion, it creates an open visual horizon that suits an accent wall behind a low bed frame or a simple desk. On a wider, uninterrupted wall, the full breadth of the painterly mountain ridges has room to breathe, while the soft contrast prevents the large-scale scenery from feeling heavy in smaller or narrower rooms.

Styling it

To complement the gentle visual flow of the artwork, we would pair our mural wallpapers with understated contemporary furniture in natural finishes. Lighter wood furniture, such as pale ash or natural oak, brings an organic warmth that balances the cooler sky-blue tones in the print.

Keep surrounding fabrics simple and tactile. Unbleached woven textiles, soft off-white cotton, and matte ceramic accents echo the calm composition without competing with the painterly brushwork.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on cool sky blues, pale misty greys, and crisp soft whites. When choosing paint for adjoining walls and trim, we recommend staying within clean off-whites or muted chalky neutrals to preserve the open, luminous feel of the sky. For subtle contrast in larger furniture pieces, you can draw from the deeper blue and slate tones found along the mountain ridges, or introduce warm oat and sand shades in rugs and soft furnishings to ground the cool tones.
