Wallpaper - Emerald Passage

Our Emerald Passage wallpaper captures a quiet forest road curving gently beneath a dense canopy of tall trees, where filtered sunlight breaks through layers of vibrant and deep foliage. What we particularly like about this photographic design by Thomas Winz is the sense of depth created by the curving tarmac and the soft interplay of light and shadow filtering across the ground. The composition draws the eye inwards along the natural green archway, creating an open visual horizon that helps a room feel more expansive. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wallpaper is straightforward to hang and brings an immersive landscape into everyday living spaces.

In the room

In a living room or a dedicated home office, we see this wall mural working particularly well as an anchor on a wide, uninterrupted wall behind a desk or sofa. The gentle curve of the road creates natural perspective, giving smaller rooms or narrow hallways an impression of continuous depth rather than a flat boundary. Because the canopy spans across the upper portion of the frame, the design also suits rooms with standard ceiling heights, keeping the darker foliage elevated while allowing the lighter asphalt and dappled path to sit at eye level. In a bedroom, placing this mural behind a low headboard lets the vertical rhythm of the tree trunks remain visible without cluttering the head of the room.

Styling it

To let the strong greenery and deep shadows of the landscape take center stage, we would keep surrounding elements relatively grounded and uncluttered:

• Pair with warm, mid-toned woods such as walnut or natural ash to echo the organic tree trunks and keep the overall room feeling grounded.
• Choose clean-lined furniture with lower profiles, such as a low-slung sofa or minimalist desk, to avoid interrupting the sweeping curve of the roadway.
• Incorporate simple matte black or dark charcoal accents in lighting fixtures or table frames, connecting directly with the darker tarmac tones within the print.
• Use soft, unpatterned woven textiles in muted oatmeal or soft off-white to balance the rich saturation of the forest canopy.

Colour combinations

The design is defined by rich forest tones, ranging from bright moss and sunlit lime to deep emerald, balanced by the cool charcoal and soft slate of the tarmac road. When choosing paint for adjacent walls or trim, warm neutral shades like soft ecru, pale stone, or linen white allow the vibrant greens to stand out without competing for attention. If you prefer a moodier and more enveloping palette, a deep moss green or slate grey drawn directly from the shadowed foliage can create a seamless transition across adjoining surfaces and skirtings.
