Wallpaper - Wavy Stripes, Green & Rust

Our Wavy Stripes, Green & Rust wallpaper combines undulating vertical bands with a soft, hand-painted watercolor look across an off-white ground. The composition balances earthy olive, warm rust brown, muted green, and pale blue ribbons, creating a flowing vertical rhythm with a distinct 1970s retro character. Because the undulating movement is structured in regular stripes, the pattern feels expressive yet balanced on the wall. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings warmth and an artistic graphic presence to any interior.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in living rooms, bedrooms, dining spaces, and home offices where you want to introduce movement without overpowering the architecture. The vertical flow naturally draws the eye upward, making it a great match for rooms with standard ceiling heights or along hallway staircases where the undulating lines echo the change in level.

Because the repeat is structured and orderly despite the organic, wavy contours, it can comfortably cover all four walls in a compact study, nursery, or cloakroom to create an enveloping backdrop. On a larger scale, such as behind a low-profile sofa in the living room or as a feature wall framing a dining table, the interplay between the warm rust and cool green tones provides visual interest across a wider surface.

Styling it

The distinct seventies revival feel of our design pairs naturally with mid-century modern and relaxed retro furnishings. We would lean into the earthy palette with warm wood tones like teak or walnut, which pick up the depth of the rust brown stripes.

To keep the balance in the room, we suggest keeping larger upholstered furniture in solid, textured fabrics rather than competing patterns. Matte black metal accents or simple brushed brass fittings work nicely alongside the graphic line work, while low-slung credenzas or modular shelving allow the vertical waves to flow uninterrupted behind your furniture.

Colour combinations

The motif itself is grounded in earthy greens, olive, warm rust brown, and light blue against a light backdrop. When planning surrounding walls and trims, we like to draw directly from these tones.

A muted olive or warm lichen green on woodwork and adjacent painted surfaces creates a cohesive, grounded look. For a warmer, higher-contrast direction, deep terracotta, cinnamon, or rich rust accents in rugs or cushions will highlight the warmth in the pattern. If you prefer a lighter, airier feel, a chalky warm white or pale oat on neighbouring walls lets the wallpaper mural serve as the central visual feature while keeping the room bright.
