Wallpaper - Spring Nectar VI

Our Spring Nectar VI wallpaper mural by Lisa Audit captures the delicate poise of a hummingbird in mid-flight against a deep, dark backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the painterly treatment of the plumage, where soft brushstrokes blend muted sage green, subtle slate blue, warm earthy beige, and silvery grey across outstretched wings. The dramatic contrast between the luminous bird and the solid charcoal black ground gives the motif a focused, contemplative presence on the wall. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this mural wallpaper brings an elegant, nature-inspired focal point into the home.

In the room

Because of the strong dark backdrop and the single central motif, we see this wall mural working especially well on an accent wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining area. In a bedroom, placing the design behind a low headboard lets the hummingbird hover gracefully above the bed line without feeling obscured. In a dining room or study, an uninterrupted wall allows the negative dark space around the subject to frame the room, creating an intimate and grounded atmosphere. The fine brushwork and soft tonal transitions on the wings become particularly rewarding up close in spaces with warm, diffused lighting.

Styling it

When styling around such a defined, high-contrast mural, we recommend keeping the immediate surroundings uncluttered to let the artwork breathe. Low-profile furniture in dark painted finishes or rich, warm woods like walnut creates a sophisticated, continuous tone against the deep wall. To pick up on the bird's softer plumage, introduce upholstery or textiles in matte sage, soft charcoal, or unbleached linen. Matte black architectural accents or subtle antique brass details sit naturally alongside the dark ground without competing with the central figure.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design combines deep charcoal black with gentle olive-sage greens, dusty lavender-greys, warm oatmeal, and crisp off-white highlights. For surrounding painted walls, continuing with a deep charcoal creates a moody, cohesive look, while a soft warm grey or stony off-white offers a balanced contrast that lets the mural stand out as a defined feature. Trims and cabinetry in muted olive, rich taupe, or dark slate will also tie into the natural undertones of the illustration.
