Wallpaper - Summer in Provence

Created by artist Danhui Nai, our Summer in Provence wallpaper captures a classic rural vista painted with soft, painterly brushwork. A winding earthen path draws the eye through rolling fern green hills dotted with vivid red poppies toward a distant white farmhouse, flanked by tall cypress trees and backed by soft, layered mountains. The composition balances generous open skies with grounded, earthy tones across the landscape. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, bringing an impressionistic sense of depth to the room.

In the room

In a living room, this scenic landscape works particularly well across a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full perspective of the winding path and distant hills can unfold naturally. The horizontal spread of the rolling terrain creates an open, scenic backdrop behind a sofa or low sideboard without feeling overcrowded.

Because the painterly detail extends across the full scene, we would keep taller furniture away from the centre of the wall so the vanishing point toward the farmhouse remains visible. The rich mix of fern green and soft sky tones also suits living spaces with good natural daylight, where the delicate tonal shifts between the hillside shadows and sunlit fields show up clearly.

Styling it

The French country feel of this design pairs naturally with relaxed, heritage-inspired furnishings. We would combine it with warm, mid-toned wood furniture, such as a rustic dining table or classic painted timber pieces, allowing the natural character of the landscape to anchor the room.

To complement the rich greens and floral accents without competing with the painted scene, keep larger textiles simple. Neutral slipcovered seating or woven wool upholstery in warm off-white or oatmeal helps ground the space, while small terracotta pottery or subtle brass lighting details can quietly echo the earthy landscape tones.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is built around a palette of fern greens, soft sky blues, earthy ochres, and vivid red accents in the poppies. To build a balanced scheme around it, we suggest pairing adjacent walls with soft warm off-white, light chalky beige, or a very pale grey-green that reflects the quiet background tones of the hills.

For window frames, skirting, and painted cabinetry, muted olive tones or warm timber stains work harmoniously alongside the greenery in the motif. If you want a small accent colour in cushions or tabletop ceramics, a warm rust or muted terracotta picks up the warmth of the foreground flowers nicely.
