Wallpaper - Faux Sand Stucco Finish, Burgundy

Our Faux Sand Stucco Finish wallpaper brings the earthy visual character of coarse plaster and mineral stucco into an interior, rendered in a deep burgundy and maroon palette. What we appreciate about this design is how the subtle tonal variations and gentle shading suggest the uneven surface of hand-applied sand render without requiring a physical plaster wall. The rich red undertones give the overall surface a warm, grounding presence across wider walls, creating depth through irregular visual texture rather than a rigid geometric pattern. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure according to your wall dimensions on PVC-free wallpaper paper with a subtle physical structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in dining rooms and living rooms where you want to create an intimate, enveloping atmosphere. Because the pattern relies on broad, continuous surface texture rather than a distinct motif, it adapts naturally to both large uninterrupted feature walls and full-room installations. In a dining room, wrapping the walls in this deep burgundy finish anchors the dining table and helps define the gathering area with a grounded, moody warmth.

In a living room, placing this design behind a low sofa or along a main accent wall brings visual depth without competing with artwork or furniture. Generous daylight highlights the subtle shifts between deep red and darker maroon tones across the surface, while softer artificial lighting in the evening deepens the shade and enhances its warm, atmospheric quality.

Styling it

When styling around our burgundy stucco mural wallpapers, we prefer pairing the rich background with materials that balance its depth:

• Bring in natural warm wood tones, such as walnut or mid-toned oak, through dining tables, low sideboards, or shelving to echo the earthy undertones of the wallpaper.
• Select upholstery and larger textiles in quiet neutrals like oatmeal, warm sand, or unbleached linen to create a soft contrast against the dark red walls.
• Incorporate accents in brushed brass or blackened metal on lighting fixtures and table bases to introduce a refined, contemporary edge that complements the textured plaster aesthetic.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built around deep burgundy, dark red, and muted maroon shades that shift gradually across the surface. To complement these verified tones, we suggest pairing adjacent walls, woodwork, and trim with warm stone, deep taupe, or soft linen neutrals. If you prefer a more enveloping monochrome scheme, deep espresso brown or charred charcoal accents work beautifully alongside the burgundy base to build a layered, dramatic interior.
