Our Liberty Island wallpaper brings the iconic New York landmark into the home with an open, architectural presence. Captured by Jan Becke, the photograph centres on the Statue of Liberty standing prominently above its stone pedestal and Fort Wood base, surrounded by the open waters of New York Harbour. Above, a bright blue sky filled with soft, sunlit clouds gives the composition a generous sense of air and vertical height. In the room

Because of the strong central subject and expansive horizon, we think this design works particularly well on an uninterrupted focal wall in a dedicated home study, library, or reading room. The lower half of the motif carries the textured rhythm of the water and stonework, while the upper portion opens up completely into sky. This vertical balance means a desk, low shelving unit, or console table can sit comfortably along the base of the wall without interrupting the monument itself. In rooms with good daylight, the natural balance between the warm masonry tones and the cool blue sky feels expansive and clear.

Styling it

To complement the architectural clarity of the photograph, we would keep surrounding furniture clean-lined and structured. Darker wood tones such as walnut or stained oak provide a grounded contrast to the airy sky, while warm metallic accents in aged brass echo the golden highlights on the torch and sunlit stonework.
