Wallpaper - Golden Era, Red

Our Golden Era, Red wallpaper, created by designer Imary, brings the ornate decorative language of classical European tapestries into the modern home. The design is structured around grand medallions, intricate scrollwork, and classical floral motifs, balanced by subtle Rococo details and ornate borders. Rich red accents and warm gold highlights sit against a refined cream and beige ground, with delicate hints of blue and pink woven through the ornamental elements. It has the visual character of historic woven textiles, offering a dignified, palace-inspired aesthetic with an ordered, symmetrical composition. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

In a formal dining room or a dedicated living room, this wallpaper creates an immediate sense of scale and architectural presence. We particularly like it on a main feature wall behind a dining table or behind a low-backed sofa, where the symmetrical medallions and detailed borders remain largely unobstructed. The classical structure also works wonderfully in an entryway or a long hallway with higher ceilings, giving the space an inviting, historic rhythm as you move through it. In a bedroom, placing our wallpaper behind the bed creates an ornate, headboard-framing backdrop that grounds the entire room without requiring busy decorative clutter elsewhere.

Styling it

Because our Golden Era design carries a high level of visual detail, we suggest balancing it with considered, quieter furnishings:

• Pair the wallpaper with warm, dark wood tones such as mahogany, antique walnut, or dark-stained oak to echo its classical heritage.
• Choose upholstered furniture in understated, solid woven fabrics so the seating does not compete with the ornate damask and scroll motifs.
• Incorporate subtle aged brass or antique bronze hardware and lighting fixtures, which pick up the warm gold details in the print without introducing high-shine distraction.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on deep reds and warm gold tones balanced by a soft cream base, with smaller notes of pink and muted blue in the finer floral elements. For surrounding painted walls, woodwork, and cornicing, we recommend soft stone, warm ivory, or a muted beige that matches the lighter field of the motif. If you want a more enveloping, heritage feel across adjacent walls or joinery, a deep muted burgundy or a quiet heritage red drawn from the tapestry borders will create a seamless, cohesive interior.
