Wallpaper - Wild Oats II

Our Wild Oats II wallpaper by Deborah Revell brings a delicate botanical study into large scale, capturing two slender stems of wild oat grass set against a calm, pale cream background. The fine seed heads and graceful stems are rendered in soft charcoal and sepia tones, balancing crisp detail with generous negative space. This minimalist composition creates an airy, unhurried atmosphere across the wall, making it a distinctive choice when you want natural imagery without visual clutter. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

We love how the open placement of the grass stems gives a room breathing space. Because the artwork leaves large areas of the warm, pale backdrop untouched, our wall murals work beautifully on uninterrupted walls in a bedroom behind a headboard or along a dining room wall where the botanical silhouettes can rise naturally behind lower furniture. In a quiet living room or home office, the vertical orientation of the stems adds gentle height to the space without overwhelming adjacent decor. It also functions well on a dedicated accent wall, providing subtle visual interest that feels peaceful rather than dominant.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest leaning into understated, tactile interior elements that echo its organic simplicity:

• Pair the warm neutral background with low-profile furniture in light oak, ash, or painted off-white finishes to maintain an uncluttered aesthetic.
• Introduce natural textiles such as unbleached linen drapery or a woven wool rug to complement the botanical softness of the print.
• Keep wall decor minimal on adjacent walls, allowing the fine line work and silhouette of the grass to serve as the main focal feature in the space.

Colour combinations

The motif itself is defined by soft charcoal, warm grey, and gentle brown tones set against an off-white, light cream ground. To build a cohesive palette around this wallpaper, we recommend matching surrounding woodwork and adjoining walls with soft ivory, chalky linen, or muted biscuit tones. For subtle contrast, accents in deep charcoal, warm taupe, or soft stony grey draw out the darker details of the seed heads while keeping the overall room calm and balanced.
