Wallpaper - Eyes Are Watching VII

Our Eyes Are Watching VII wallpaper brings together classical portrait imagery and graphic precision in a striking, circular composition. Created in collaboration with Wild Apple Portfolio, the design focuses on an intensely observed human eye painted with subtle realism and fine craquelure details. Framing the central gaze is a black compass-like dial with sharp triangular points and fine degree markings, all set within an ornate, antique gold-toned picture frame. Printed as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wall mural, this design carries a lightly structured paper surface and serves as an intriguing, theatrical focal point for considered interior spaces.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working exceptionally well as an accent piece in a study, home library, or refined entryway where its dramatic composition can be appreciated up close. Because the motif is framed like an oversized architectural medallion, it naturally commands attention on a feature wall, whether centred behind a desk, positioned over a console table, or placed along an intimate hallway. In spaces with classic proportions or higher ceilings, the contrast between the detailed painted eye and the sharp geometric black teeth creates an arresting focal point without overwhelming the entire perimeter of the room.

Styling it

To balance the theatrical and historical mood of this mural wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with clean, deliberate furnishings that allow the central artwork to lead:

• Anchor the wall with dark wood furniture, such as antique walnut or ebonised timber, echoing the deep tones of the outer frame and circular compass dial.
• Incorporate muted brass or blackened metal hardware and lighting fixtures to subtly complement the warm gilded frame within the print.
• Keep surrounding upholstery and soft furnishings tailored and understated in rich, solid textiles like dark velvet or dense matte wool to let the visual detail remain on the wall.

Colour combinations

The palette of this wallpaper is grounded in antique gold, warm ochre, and deep black, balanced by the natural flesh tones, hazel-brown iris, and soft ivory whites of the painted eye. When choosing paint colours for adjacent walls and woodwork, we recommend drawing out the deeper tones with charcoal, soft black, or muted olive. If you prefer a lighter, more understated scheme, warm off-white or a sandy parchment beige will frame the design cleanly while keeping the focus on its rich central contrasts.
