Wallpaper - Food Phrases II

Designed by Becky Thorns, our Food Phrases II wallpaper brings bold typography and graphic culinary illustrations together in an expressive, relaxed layout. The composition centres around hand-lettered "eat & drink" phrasing in deep navy blue, framed by simple line illustrations of a spoon, wine glass, fork, and knife set against a clean off-white background. The brush-like texture within the lettering adds visual warmth and personality to the graphic style. Made-to-measure and PVC-free, this design features a subtle structure in the paper that complements its clean, illustrative character.

In the room

We love this design in social, food-focused spaces like a kitchen, dining room, or casual breakfast nook. The clear scale and graphic presence make it an engaging feature wall behind a dining table or alongside open kitchen shelving. Because the background is light and open, the pattern adds character without overwhelming smaller dining spaces, while the strong dark lettering holds its own on wider walls in an open-plan kitchen and dining area.

Styling it

We recommend keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and unpretentious so the typography remains the focal point. Pale painted cabinets, a simple timber dining table, or casual bistro-style chairs sit comfortably alongside the relaxed graphic aesthetic. Soft matte finishes and simple everyday ceramics echo the casual dining theme naturally.

Colour combinations

The design relies on a striking high-contrast pairing of deep navy blue lettering against a warm off-white base. For adjacent walls and trim, warm neutrals like cream, soft linen, or pale stone keep the room feeling light and cohesive. If you prefer deeper accents, rich navy cabinetry or dark slate grey woodwork will mirror the brushstroke tone directly.
