Wallpaper - Standing Horse at a Fence

Our Standing Horse at a Fence wallpaper combines a delicate sketch-style illustration with a classic plaid border frame. The central motif features a horse standing beside a wooden fence post near water, rendered in soft sepia and warm brown pencil-drawn tones against an off-white background. Surrounding the vignette, the woven-look check border in warm taupe and cream lends the composition a timeless, heritage character. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings a calm, equestrian feel to accent walls and feature spaces.

In the room

In a study, home office, or quiet living room, this mural wallpaper works exceptionally well as a framed statement behind a desk or sofa. Because the design is structured around a central rectangular vignette and a tartan-style outer border, we recommend placing it on a relatively flat, uninterrupted wall where the full proportion of the frame remains clearly visible. In a hallway or dining area, the restrained sepia palette keeps the overall atmosphere light and uncluttered while offering distinct character.

Styling it

We suggest pairing this wallpaper with tailored furniture and traditional silhouettes to echo its equestrian look. Warm wood tones, such as antique pine, warm oak, or walnut, complement the sepia line work naturally. For surrounding upholstery and textiles, look toward rich wool textures, tailored linen, or classic leather in cognac or deep brown to reinforce the countryside feel without competing with the framed composition.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design relies on gentle sepia, warm taupe, biscuit tones, and soft cream. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, we recommend muted neutrals such as warm off-white, light oatmeal, or soft stone. If you prefer a richer contrast in surrounding cabinetry or trim, deep olive, forest green, or muted chocolate brown pick up the earthy depth of the sketch beautifully.
