Wallpaper - Thistles Green

Our Thistles Green wallpaper captures the wild, untamed beauty of dried botanical grasses and thistle silhouettes set against a deep, painterly moss-green backdrop. What we particularly like about this design is the expressive brushwork and painterly texture, where delicate cream and chalky white seed heads rise through layers of warm ochre, taupe, and earthy brown tones. The composition feels organic and windswept, creating a rich visual rhythm across the wall without feeling overly rigid. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, it brings a grounded, natural atmosphere into the home.

In the room

In a living room or dining space, we see this design working beautifully on an uninterrupted feature wall, where the full sweep of the botanical stems has ample space to be appreciated. The deep olive-green upper section balances the denser, textured brushstrokes across the lower half, giving the impression of an immersive landscape. For a bedroom, placing this mural wallpaper behind a low headboard allows the taller white stems to stretch upwards naturally, framing the sleeping area with an earthy, calming presence. It also works wonderfully in a quiet study or hallway, where the intricate painterly marks invite closer viewing.

Styling it

Because this design carries significant visual texture and expressive movement, we recommend pairing it with grounded, understated furnishings that let the wall mural take centre stage.

• Choose furniture in warm, mid-toned woods or muted painted finishes rather than high-gloss or synthetic surfaces, echoing the organic feel of the landscape.
• Introduce tactile upholstery such as matte wool, textured bouclé, or unbleached linen in cream, biscuit, or warm stone tones to soften the overall setting.
• Incorporate subtle accent hardware in aged bronze, antique brass, or matte black, which harmonises naturally with the deep greens and earthy undertones.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by deep moss and olive green, contrasted with chalky off-white, oat, dried-wheat gold, and muted bark brown. When decorating around this mural, warm neutrals like soft oatmeal, raw linen, and pale putty on adjacent walls will keep the room feeling cohesive and gentle. If you prefer a moodier, enveloping scheme, consider matching woodwork or nearby surfaces with deep forest greens or rich olive tones pulled directly from the background of the design.
