Wallpaper - Whispers in Clay lI

Designed by Nikita Jariwala, our Whispers in Clay II wallpaper captures an intimate still life with an expressive, painterly character. The composition balances a mint-blue ceramic vase with soft white polka dots against a warm terracotta surface and a muted dusky lilac backdrop. Cascading leafy stems arch out from the vessel, introducing delicate dark foliage that drapes gracefully across the scene. Visible brushstrokes and subtle painted textures give the motif an artistic, tactile appearance. Our wall murals are made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

We see this design working beautifully on a focal wall in a dining room, living area, or a calm bedroom setting. Because the artwork functions as a composed, large-scale still life, it benefits from an uninterrupted wall where the full curve of the vase and the trailing branches can be appreciated without being broken up by tall furniture. In a dining space, placing this wallpaper alongside a table arrangement lets the warm terracotta base anchor the lower half of the wall, while the lighter mint and dusky background add a gentle sense of height. In rooms with soft daylight, the quiet contrast between the cool mint vase and the earthy clay tones becomes particularly pleasing.

Styling it

To style around this design, we suggest drawing on its relaxed, artistic feel:

• Pair with warm, natural wood finishes such as ash, birch, or mid-toned timber that complement the terracotta tones of the foreground.
• Choose understated, low-profile furniture so the trailing leaves and distinctive vase silhouette remain the focal point of the space.
• Introduce neutral ceramic tableware or simple earthenware accents to echo the painted ceramic motif without competing with its colours.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper centres on a refreshing mint blue, crisp white polka dots, and deep foliage tones set against terracotta and muted lilac-grey. When selecting surrounding colours for adjacent walls, trim, or larger textiles, soft terracotta or warm clay shades create an effortless continuation of the artwork's lower plane. For a fresher, lighter mood, a soft off-white or chalky cream on surrounding walls highlights the brightness of the polka dots and keeps the room open. If you prefer subtle contrast, muted sage or pale eucalyptus tones harmonise gently with the mint and dark leaves.
