Wallpaper - Deluge

Our Deluge wallpaper, created in collaboration with Danhui Nai, brings together cool slate blue and misty grey tones in an atmospheric abstract composition. The design features soft, blended patches that suggest shifting mist, weathered plaster, or gentle oil paint washes, with deeper blue-grey tones at the perimeter that gradually soften toward a lighter centre. This gradient composition gives the surface a quiet sense of depth and fluid movement without relying on rigid geometric shapes or defined figurative motifs. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers an understated backdrop suited to calm, considered spaces.

In the room

Because the composition transitions from deeper slate tones at the edges to a lighter centre, we see this working particularly well on an uninterrupted wall in a study, home office, or dedicated meditation space. In a study, placing this mural wallpaper behind a desk or low shelving creates a focused yet tranquil atmosphere where the subtle tonal shifts provide visual interest without feeling busy. The soft, diffuse character of the abstract texture also suits larger rooms where a high-contrast pattern might feel overwhelming across a wide surface. When daylight moves across the wall, the cool grey and slate blue undertones subtly shift, lending a calm, expansive quality to the room throughout the day.

Styling it

We suggest keeping the surrounding interior restrained and contemporary, letting the atmospheric quality of the mural take centre stage. Clean-lined minimalist furniture in cool neutral tones or dark painted finishes creates a grounded silhouette against the softer blue background. Warm mid-tone woods or brushed metal lighting fixtures introduce gentle contrast, preventing the cooler slate palette from feeling stark while preserving the balanced, quiet feel of the overall interior.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper centres on cool slate blue, soft atmospheric grey, and pale, mist-like neutral tones. For adjacent walls and skirting boards, we recommend off-whites with cool undertones or soft dove greys that pick up on the lighter sections of the gradient. If you want to introduce deeper contrast, deep charcoal, muted ink blue, or matte black accents in furniture frames and lighting will ground the misty palette without competing with its delicate gradient.
