Wallpaper - Pebbles and Sandpipers II

Our Pebbles and Sandpipers II wallpaper by Lisa Audit brings together soft watercolour washes, delicate shorebirds, and scattered coastal stones across a light, airy background. What we particularly appreciate in this design is how the fine brushwork on the two sandpipers is balanced by the gentle, painterly typography reading "Love is You and Me". The light palette and generous negative space give the composition a calm, uncluttered presence. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wallpapers are straightforward to hang and make a quiet, characterful statement in living rooms, bedrooms, or guest spaces.

In the room

Because the motif relies on an open composition and soft tonal contrast, we like using this wallpaper in rooms where you want an airy, serene atmosphere. In a bedroom, it works exceptionally well on the wall behind the headboard, where the gentle birds and script can be enjoyed without overwhelming the rest of the decor. In an entryway, hallway, or guest room, the pale backdrop keeps compact spaces feeling bright and open while adding an artistic touch.

For a home office, library, or dressing room, the understated watercolour style provides a gentle focal point behind a desk or reading chair. If you are decorating a dining room or living room, we recommend giving this wall mural an uninterrupted wall so the full spacing of the shoreline elements and script can be fully appreciated.

Styling it

The light, illustrative character of this wallpaper pairs naturally with relaxed, coastal, traditional, or transitional interiors. We suggest pairing it with warm painted furniture or pale timber pieces that echo the earthy, sandy tones in the motif. To maintain the balanced, airy feel of the room, keep surrounding fabrics relatively quiet with unbleached woven cottons or soft off-white drapery that lets the delicate watercolour details stand out.

Colour combinations

The artwork is built upon a soft white and pale cream backdrop, complemented by earthy greys, warm sand tones, and muted charcoal in the shorebirds and lettering. To build a cohesive palette around it, we recommend using soft off-whites, warm stony neutrals, or gentle chalky greys on adjoining walls and woodwork. If you want to introduce subtle contrast, muted taupe or a washed driftwood grey on skirting boards and doors frames the motif beautifully without competing with its delicate palette.
