Wallpaper - Laurent

Our Laurent wallpaper, created by Yumeee, brings a dramatic Chinoiserie narrative into the room with graceful red-crowned cranes set against an intense sangria red ground. The composition anchors its movement along the lower portion of the wall, where stylised foliage and pines ground the birds as their wings and elongated necks rise into the open field above. Rendered with crisp graphic definition and refined tonal shading in the feathers, this mural wallpaper creates an artistic, theatrical focal point. Like all of our wallpapers, it is custom made to your exact dimensions, PVC-free, and printed on paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the primary visual weight sits along the lower edge and rises upward, we see this working particularly well in a dining room or a wider living room where the rhythm of the cranes can unfold across an uninterrupted wall. The strong contrast between the deep red backdrop and the bright white plumage naturally commands attention, making it an exceptional choice for a feature wall behind low-profile seating or a dining table. In a hallway or staircase area, the horizontal procession of the birds provides a captivating sense of direction and movement, guiding the eye along the space without feeling overly cluttered overhead.

Styling it

To let the expressive bird motif lead the interior, we suggest balancing the space with relatively quiet, considered furniture.

• Pair with dark timber or warm walnut furniture that echoes the deeper earthy tones at the base of the design, providing a grounded, elegant presence.
• Select upholstery in matte neutrals, charcoal, or muted olive green to complement the stylised botanical details without competing with the bold red ground.
• Introduce subtle antique brass or matte black lighting accents to mirror the clean contours and historic Asian art influences found within the illustration.

Colour combinations

The palette centres around a rich sangria red field, crisp white and charcoal black plumage, touches of bright crimson on the crowns, and soft pine greens along the base. To complement these tones on neighbouring surfaces, we recommend pairing the design with muted chalky off-whites or soft warm stone on adjacent walls and woodwork. If you prefer a moodier, more immersive interior, dark forest green or deep espresso charcoal on architectural trim will beautifully frame the red backdrop and tie into the lower botanicals.
