Wallpaper - White Anemones on Black

Created by Danhui Nai, our White Anemones on Black wallpaper features broad, open floral blooms rendered with the soft, layered brushwork of an oil painting. Pale cream and white petals gather around warm golden centres, emerging from muted green foliage along the lower edge against a deep, dark charcoal backdrop. The striking contrast gives the floral still life a serene and painterly presence on the wall. Produced made to measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings an elegant, timeless mood to living spaces and bedrooms alike.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well on a main feature wall in a bedroom or living room. Because the blossoms have a generous scale and are concentrated across the composition with leaves grounding the lower section, placing this mural wallpaper behind a low headboard or a sleek sofa allows the large white petals to remain fully in view. The dark backdrop adds dramatic depth without overwhelming the space, making it a natural fit for rooms where you want an intimate, calming atmosphere.

Styling it

To complement the painterly character and high contrast of the artwork, we suggest pairing it with furniture that balances softness and warmth. Natural mid-tone or dark wood pieces, such as walnut or warm oak, sit comfortably against the deep background and echo the golden ochre details in the flower centres.

For surrounding textiles, consider smooth matte fabrics or simple linen cushions in off-white, warm grey, or muted olive. Keeping large furniture silhouettes understated ensures the delicate brush textures and prominent floral forms remain the primary focal point of the interior.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is defined by pure white, creamy ivory, warm ochre-gold centres, sage green leaves, and a rich charcoal black background. When choosing colours for adjacent walls, woodwork, or built-in cabinetry, soft off-whites and pale stone shades create a fresh, balanced contrast. Alternatively, matching neighbouring walls with a deep charcoal or graphite paint creates a continuous, enveloping feel where the white flowers truly stand out.
