Wallpaper - Erlangen Germany Skyline Purple & Gold

Our Erlangen Germany Skyline Purple & Gold wallpaper features a distinctive architectural silhouette created by Michael Tompsett. Set against a clean white backdrop, the city landmarks are rendered in a watercolor-like fusion of rich purple, dark mulberry, and warm golden ochre tones. Subtle splatters and painted textures give the urban horizon an expressive, artistic character with plenty of visual movement along the lower edge. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design brings a graphic focal point to an interior wall while keeping the upper portion open and light.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well on a main feature wall in a living room or a dedicated home office. Because the skyline anchors the lower half of the composition and leaves generous white space above, it creates vertical breathing room without overwhelming the room. In a living room, positioning the wallpaper on the wall behind a sofa allows the architectural spires and towers to rise naturally above the furniture line. For a home office or study, placing it on an uninterrupted wall provides an engaging graphic backdrop that stays crisp and uncluttered.

Styling it

The balanced contrast between deep mulberry and warm gold offers clear styling directions for the surrounding room.

• Pair with warm wood finishes such as walnut, teak, or warm oak to echo the golden ochre tones across the skyline.
• Choose clean-lined, contemporary furniture in neutral upholstery to let the expressive watercolour silhouette remain the visual anchor.
• Introduce understated accents in brushed brass or dark metal to complement both the rich purple and the warmer paint splatters.

Colour combinations

The palette inside our wallpaper brings together dark mulberry and earthy purple alongside golden ochre, amber, and an open white background. For surrounding painted walls, soft off-whites, warm creams, or very pale stone shades keep the focus on the skyline motif while maintaining a bright atmosphere. If you want to create a deeper, moodier scheme, picking up a muted plum or deep purple on adjoining walls or low cabinetry ties directly into the base of the cityscape. Warm ochre cushions, throws, or decorative ceramics also help carry the golden accents into the wider room.
