Wallpaper - Bold Blooms

Our Bold Blooms wallpaper, created by Pamela Munger, brings an expressive floral still life to the wall with broad, painterly brushstrokes. Set against a deep black background, the composition features an arrangement of generous blossoms in soft lilac-pink, warm ochre-yellow, and crisp white, gathered in a muted slate-blue vase resting on a neutral surface. The visible canvas texture in the artwork gives the painted forms a distinct sense of depth, creating an immediate focal point with clear contrasts. Printed to your specific dimensions, our made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpapers are straightforward to hang and feature a subtle physical structure in the paper.

In the room

In a dining room or living room, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an accent wall where the full still life can be appreciated without heavy visual competition. The striking dark backdrop anchors the room, while the bright blooms create visual warmth and focus. Because the composition has the presence of a framed fine-art piece scaled up, we would give it a relatively open wall, such as behind a dining sideboard or opposite an entryway. In rooms with gentle morning daylight or warm evening lamps, the contrast between the dark field and the glowing yellow and pink petals becomes especially pronounced.

Styling it

We recommend letting the painterly character of the wallpaper guide the surrounding decor. Furniture with clean, uncluttered silhouettes works nicely against the bold backdrop, preventing the space from feeling overcrowded.

• Warm wood tones, such as mid-tone oak or walnut, echo the earthy ochres in the petals and bring a grounded, welcoming feel to the space.
• Matte black or dark metal accents on lighting and table bases tie seamlessly into the deep background, framing the floral composition.
• Neutral, unpatterned fabrics on larger upholstery allow the expressive floral arrangement to remain the primary visual focus in the room.

Colour combinations

The design centres on the interplay between the deep black ground and the vibrant floral arrangement of lilac-pink, golden ochre, off-white, and slate blue. When planning surrounding surfaces, we like pulling out the muted slate blue from the vase for adjacent painted walls or built-in joinery to create a cohesive, moody palette. Alternatively, soft off-whites and warm greys on adjoining walls provide a crisp, balanced transition that lets the dark artwork stand out dramatically.
