Wallpaper - Timber Clad, Graphite

Our Timber Clad, Graphite wallpaper brings the visual character of dark vertical timber panelling into an interior. The design features rich charcoal, deep grey and muted black tones with soft grain variations and subtle vertical seams that create an orderly, grounding rhythm across the wall. Produced as a made-to-measure wallpaper on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a sophisticated architectural atmosphere that works beautifully in living spaces, bedrooms and dining areas.

In the room

We particularly like this design on a main feature wall behind a sofa or bed, where the dark vertical planks create depth without needing heavy ornamentation. The vertical lines naturally draw the eye upward, making it an effective choice for rooms with standard ceiling heights or open-plan living rooms that need a clear visual anchor. In spaces with good natural light, the subtle shifts between charcoal, soft slate and deep graphite become more discernible, while evening lighting lends the room an intimate, cocooning atmosphere. Because the pattern relies on vertical flow rather than complex motifs, it sits comfortably behind low-profile furniture without losing its visual structure.

Styling it

To balance the dark graphite palette, we suggest pairing this design with contrasting materials and warm accents:

• Introduce furniture in warm medium-toned woods or lighter painted finishes to create a balanced contrast against the dark panelling.
• Incorporate tactile textiles such as woollen throws, boucle upholstery or muted linen curtains in neutral oatmeal, warm beige or light grey to soften the strong vertical lines.
• Accent with brushed brass, warm bronze or matte black lighting fixtures to complement the architectural feel of the timber effect.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a spectrum of deep graphite, charcoal grey and soft black tones with subtle muted undertones. When choosing colours for surrounding walls and trim, warm off-whites, pale greiges and soft chalky stone shades provide a crisp, modern contrast. For a moodier, wraparound feel, deep peat, olive or slate paint on adjacent walls harmonises effortlessly with the dark wood grain.
