Wallpaper - Frank, Cobalt

Our Frank, Cobalt wallpaper, designed by Irina Chikati, brings together modernist collage and abstract geometry in rich shades of cobalt blue, navy, and deep black. Layered rectangles, arches, circles, and linear forms overlap across the composition, softened by painterly textures and brush-like visual variation that give the dark blue palette genuine depth. We print all our wallpapers made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, creating an expressive focal point that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because of its bold composition and saturated dark palette, we especially like this design on a feature wall in a living room or dining room. Giving the pattern an uninterrupted wall allows the balance between the larger solid forms and finer geometric details to show clearly. In a bedroom or a dedicated study, placing the wallpaper behind a bed or desk frames the furniture with structured, graphic depth. For an entryway or hallway staircase, the vertical rhythm of the collage draws the eye upward and creates an immediate architectural feel.

Styling it

When styling around Frank, Cobalt, we recommend balancing the strong geometric forms with clean-lined furniture and thoughtful material contrast.

• Choose furniture with sculptural or modernist silhouettes, such as tubular black metal frames, dark walnut, or warm ash, to echo the structured Bauhaus feel of the design.
• Incorporate smooth leather, dense wool, or structured bouclé in neutral tones to balance the painted visual texture of the wall mural.
• Keep wall-mounted lighting and decorative accents minimal and graphic, using matte black or brushed brass fixtures that punctuate the deep blue background without competing with the shapes.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on intense cobalt blue and midnight navy paired with solid black accents and muted slate undertones. In the surrounding room, off-white, cool grey, and crisp chalk paint on adjacent walls keep the room bright while letting the blue forms command attention. If you want a moodier, enveloping scheme, deep charcoal, ink blue, or dark cocoa create a seamless tonal extension across trims, shelving, and architectural woodwork.
