Wallpaper - Conoid Grain, Venetian

Our Conoid Grain, Venetian wallpaper translates the flowing, organic lines of natural woodgrain into a warm, graphic surface design. Designed by Wallism Studio, the motif layers undulating growth rings and fine vertical striations across a terracotta and Venetian red ground, accented by pale cream highlights that outline each contour. The vertical flow creates gentle upward movement that feels both architectural and organic. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love how the elongated, vertical flow of this pattern helps draw the eye upward, making it particularly effective on full-height walls in living rooms, dining areas, or entrance hallways. Because the woodgrain motif is dense and continuous rather than broken into separate panels, it works well across an expansive feature wall behind a dining table or sofa, as well as wrapping around a smaller room like a study or guest bathroom to create an intimate, cocooning atmosphere.

The warmth of the terracotta and Venetian red tones responds beautifully to shifting daylight. In brighter rooms, the finer cream linework stands out crisply, while under softer ambient lamps in the evening, the entire wall settles into a rich, cohesive warmth.

Styling it

When decorating around this wallpaper, we suggest balancing its rich graphic pattern with clean-lined furniture and calm, tactile materials. Mid-century and contemporary silhouettes with simple geometry prevent the room from feeling overly busy, letting the fluid grain remain the focal point.

For surrounding furniture, warm woods such as teak or dark walnut create a natural tonal dialogue with the terracotta base, while matte black metal accents on lighting or chair frames introduce a crisp, grounded contrast. Upholstery in neutral, textured weaves like natural linen or bouclé keeps the seating area quiet and inviting against the expressive backdrop.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by terracotta, Venetian red, and muted rust tones, complemented by pale cream and warm beige linework.

To create a balanced interior, we recommend pairing this design with off-white, soft plaster, or warm stone tones on adjacent painted walls and woodwork to let the wallpaper's palette breathe. For a richer, more enveloping scheme, deeper earthy shades like burnt umber, charcoal, or olive green on neighbouring trims or larger upholstery pieces harmonise effortlessly with the reddish-brown undertones.
