Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Indigo

Our Ginko Folly wallpaper pairs botanical inspiration with an elegant Art Deco scallop structure. Stylised ginkgo leaves fan out across the wall in a neat, rhythmic repeating pattern, with fine linear veining set against deep indigo blue and soft off-white outlining. What we especially like about this design is the balance between organic curving forms and geometric order, giving the wall a tailored, sophisticated presence without feeling rigid. Like all our wallpapers, it is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

The repeating fan motif works particularly well when given space to create an all-over rhythmic backdrop. In a living room, we see this design working beautifully on an uninterrupted feature wall behind a sofa or across an entire dining room where the darker indigo creates an intimate, enveloping atmosphere. The scale of the repeat also makes it well suited to smaller spaces like a cloakroom, hallway, or study, where the geometric detail adds immediate visual interest without overwhelming the room. In rooms with generous daylight, the fine off-white linework stands out crisply against the dark blue, while softer evening lighting brings out a rich, moody depth.

Styling it

Because the motif carries a strong geometric rhythm, we prefer keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and understated. Mid-century silhouettes or contemporary pieces with simple profiles let the pattern serve as the primary visual focus.

Warm wood tones like walnut or teak pair naturally with deep blue, balancing the cool indigo backdrop with richness and warmth. For decorative accents, touches of brushed brass or antique gold echo the classic Art Deco spirit of the fanned arches, while plain woven fabrics on upholstery keep the overall space calm and balanced.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on two primary tones: a deep indigo blue and a soft, muted off-white. When planning surrounding surfaces, warm neutrals such as soft linen, ivory, or pale stone on adjoining walls and woodwork will keep the scheme cohesive and bright. If you want a more dramatic, layered look, pulling through matching deep navy or petrol blue paint on adjacent joinery, skirting boards, or doors creates a striking tonal effect.
