Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Liquorice

Our Ginko Folly, Liquorice wallpaper pairs graphic botanical shapes with an elegant Art Deco scalloped rhythm. The repeating pattern features stylised ginkgo leaves with delicate inner veining, set in dark charcoal black against a soft off-white backdrop. What we particularly like is how the fans interlock in arches, creating a geometric cadence that feels balanced from across the room yet reveals fine line work up close. Like all of our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its structured, fan-like rhythm and high contrast, we see this pattern working beautifully in an entryway or hallway where the architectural repetition sets an immediate tone. In a bedroom or living room, it serves wonderfully on a feature wall behind a headboard or low-profile sofa, providing visual depth without overpowering the room. In dining rooms, the continuous arches create an intimate, sophisticated backdrop for evening gatherings, especially where wall sconces cast gentle directional light across the surface.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this design with mid-century or contemporary furniture featuring clean silhouettes and warm wood finishes like walnut or dark oak. To balance the geometric intensity of the black and off-white pattern, introduce softer textures such as boucle upholstery, brushed brass light fixtures, or matte black metal accents that echo the dark linework. Keeping larger furniture pieces in solid tones allows the botanical motif to stand out clearly.

Colour combinations

The design itself centres on deep charcoal black, liquorice tones, and creamy off-white. When styling the surrounding space, we suggest painting neighbouring walls or woodwork in soft warm neutrals, warm grey, or muted taupe to soften the transition. If you prefer a richer, more dramatic feel, adjacent woodwork in deep charcoal, blackened green, or rich espresso brown creates a seamless, tailored atmosphere.
