Wallpaper - Shape Shifter, Cocoa Powder

Our Shape Shifter, Cocoa Powder wallpaper brings together soft organic shapes, painterly brushwork, and layered earthy tones in a balanced abstract collage. Designed by Irina Chikati, the composition pairs grounded forms in cocoa brown, dusty mauve, warm sand, and muted taupe with sweeping chalky white gestures across a pale greyish backdrop. The fluid geometry and gentle tonal contrast give the design a calm, grounded presence that works beautifully across contemporary interiors. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers, each order is tailored to your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in a living room, bedroom, or dining room where you want visual warmth without rigid geometric patterns. On a wider, uninterrupted wall behind a low sofa or a bed frame, the larger organic forms have enough space to unfold naturally and create a quiet focal point. Because the palette stays soft and earthy, our wall murals can anchor a single feature wall or wrap across multiple walls in a dedicated home office or sitting area. In generous daylight, the delicate tonal shifts between the mauve, taupe, and sand tones become easy to distinguish, while softer evening lighting brings out the deeper warmth of the cocoa shapes.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we like pairing it with simple silhouettes and understated materials that echo its organic composition. Furniture in warm wood tones, such as mid-tone oak or ash, sits comfortably alongside the earthy browns and taupes in the motif. Seating upholstered in textured neutral fabrics, like woven wool or soft bouclé in cream and warm grey, complements the painterly brushstrokes without competing for attention. To keep the space balanced, consider incorporating matte ceramics or subtle blackened metal accents, which introduce crisp definition against the soft forms on the wall.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on cocoa brown, muted taupe, warm sandy beige, dusty mauve, and chalky white over a pale grey ground. When selecting paint colours for adjoining walls, woodwork, or cornicing, pulling from these neutral tones keeps the space cohesive. A soft off-white or light stone shade maintains an airy, open feel that lets the wallpaper lead the room. If you prefer a richer, more cocooning atmosphere, drawing out the deeper cocoa or a muted mushroom tone on adjacent painted walls or cabinetry adds depth and grounds the space.
