Wallpaper - Crocker Parchment, Charcoal

Our Crocker Parchment, Charcoal wallpaper brings a structured, atmospheric depth to interior walls with its grid of softly mottled parchment panels. The design balances geometric order with organic variation, featuring deep charcoal, soft black, and subtle slate tones across each square tile segment. This tonal movement softens what would otherwise be a rigid grid, giving the surface a nuanced, parchment-inspired look rather than a flat, solid dark wall. As with all our wallpapers, this mural wallpaper is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, offering a refined backdrop with presence and quiet restraint.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well in spaces where you want to build an intimate, cocooning atmosphere or introduce architectural structure to plain drywall. In a bedroom, installing it on the wall behind the headboard creates an immediate sense of depth that anchors the bed without needing an overly elaborate frame. In a dedicated dining room or study, wrapping multiple walls in this darker repeat gives the room a cohesive, library-like feel where evening lighting can catch the subtle shifts between the charcoal tiles. Because the grid structure provides a rhythmic visual foundation, it also suits living rooms with generous wall spans, grounding larger seating arrangements and contemporary furniture.

Styling it

To balance the deep charcoal ground, we suggest pairing this design with furniture that brings warmth and tactile contrast to the space. Natural timbers in medium to dark finishes, such as walnut or smoked oak, blend smoothly with the moody palette, while lighter woods can offer a crisp, graphic counterpoint.

Upholstery in woven textiles, bouclé, or soft brushed fabrics helps soften the architectural geometry of the grid. If you are introducing metal details in lighting fixtures or furniture frames, warm tones like aged brass, muted bronze, or blackened steel feel especially considered against the dark parchment background.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on layered shades of charcoal, off-black, and muted slate grey. When choosing surrounding paint colours for adjacent walls, ceilings, and woodwork, we recommend working with either tonal depth or measured warmth. Deep off-blacks and smoky greys create a seamless, enveloping look when painted across skirtings and architraves. Alternatively, warm chalky whites, stone neutrals, or soft taupe tones on adjacent surfaces prevent the space from feeling too stark, while richer accent colours such as terracotta, olive green, or deep rust introduce natural vibrancy.
