Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Weathered Oak

Our Grain Clad, Weathered Oak wallpaper captures the visual character of vertical timber cladding, featuring muted taupe, warm grey, and gentle brown tones. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between the fluid organic grain patterns and the structured, vertical rhythm of the planks. The weathered visual texture lends an understated architectural quality to the wall without feeling overly rustic. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings depth and natural character to interior spaces.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in a living room behind a low sofa, where the vertical grain helps draw the eye upward and anchor the main seating area. In a dining room or bedroom, the vertical plank structure creates an inviting backdrop that adds visual interest across wider, continuous walls. The steady rhythm of the panels makes it comfortable to use on a dedicated feature wall or across multiple adjoining walls, particularly in rooms with generous natural daylight that brings out the softer shifts between grey and brown wood tones.

Styling it

To complement the vertical structure of the wall mural, we would balance the backdrop with soft, rounded furniture shapes. Upholstered pieces in textured boucle or woven wool in warm off-white, oatmeal, or charcoal create a pleasing contrast against the linear pattern.

When introducing hardware or lighting accents, blackened steel or muted bronze fittings sit naturally alongside the weathered timber tones. Keeping surrounding accessories relatively minimal allows the detail in the wood grain to remain the central feature of the space.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is grounded in an earthy palette of weathered oak browns, soft greys, and muted taupe. For surrounding painted walls and woodwork, we recommend pairing this design with chalky warm whites, stony neutrals, or soft mushroom tones to maintain a calm, cohesive atmosphere. If you want to create a deeper, moodier contrast, rich charcoal or deep peat brown on adjacent trim work or shelving will echo the darker linear grain lines within the planks.
