Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Walnut

Our Grain Clad, Walnut wallpaper brings the visual character of vertical wooden cladding into the home through deep, organic timber grain and rich walnut tones. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between the broad vertical planks and the intricate, fluid knots and swirls that run through each panel. The visual rhythm of the dark brown timber feels grounded and architectural, offering a steady, sophisticated backdrop without overwhelming the surrounding space. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it is designed to be straightforward to hang while adding refined depth to any interior.

In the room

In a living room or dining area, we see this design working particularly well across a wider, uninterrupted feature wall behind a dining table or low sofa. The vertical direction of the planks draws the eye upwards, giving the wall a tall, structured presence that suits both spacious rooms and more compact, cosy areas like a home office or bedroom. Because the pattern relies on deep brown tones and subtle tonal variations rather than sharp contrasts, it can also wrap comfortably across multiple walls in a study or snug without feeling busy.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we like to play with contrasting materials that balance the visual weight of dark walnut wood. Mid-century modern and contemporary interior pieces with clean, low-profile silhouettes help keep the overall look tailored and uncluttered.

To prevent the space from feeling too heavy, we would introduce tactile upholstery in textured boucle or woven neutrals, paired with matte black metal accents or brushed brass details on lighting fixtures. If you are incorporating additional timber furniture, opting for either matching dark walnut or contrasting paler painted pieces creates an intentional, harmonious balance.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper is grounded in deep walnut brown, espresso tones, and softer mocha lowlights. When choosing colours for adjacent walls, trim, or larger soft furnishings, we suggest exploring:

Warm stone, soft taupe, or creamy off-white to create a classic, luminous contrast that lets the rich wood tones stand out.

Deep forest greens or muted olive shades that complement the natural, organic feel of timber while deepening the room's mood.

Charcoal, warm slate, or rich terracotta accents to echo the depth of the dark grain and add layered warmth across rugs or decorative cushions.
