Our Molten Muse, Heathwave wallpaper combines fluid thermal-style gradients with clean geometric shapes to create an expressive abstract focal point. Saturated fields of warm sunset red, vivid orange, sunny yellow, cobalt blue, and muted lilac melt across the surface, framed and interrupted by sharp circles, rectangles, and sheer tinted overlays. Created by Irina Chikati, this graphic wall mural brings dynamic visual movement and modern colour energy to living spaces. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure for your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.
About the design
In this design by Irina Chikati, we explore the balance between fluid distortion and structured geometry. The background suggests molten heat maps and blurred spectrums, where warm tones of fiery red, orange, and golden amber bleed directly into vibrant blue and soft lavender. Floating across these liquid colour transitions are defined geometric cut-outs, crisp spheres, vertical bands, and translucent geometric planes that create distinct layers of depth.
What we particularly like about our design is how it plays with scale and visual contrast. Seen from across the room, the composition reads as a bold, contemporary mural wallpaper with distinct zones of heat and cool shadow. Up close, the smooth chromatic shifts and softer tinted blocks reveal subtle tonal gradations that keep the eye moving across the entire wall.
In the room
Because of its expressive palette and graphic rhythm, we see this design working especially well on a feature wall in an open-plan living room or a modern dining space. The pattern benefits from an uninterrupted wall where the full geometric layout and colour transitions have space to unfold naturally without being crowded.
In a home office, study, or creative studio, we would position this wallpaper behind a desk or workspace to serve as an energetic backdrop. In a hallway or entryway, the vertical elements of the design help draw the eye upward, giving narrower areas an immediate sense of intention and contemporary character.
Styling it
When styling around such a colourful and visually active design, we recommend letting the wall carry the primary energy while keeping major furniture pieces grounded. Clean-lined contemporary furniture in matte black, off-white, or neutral grey works well to frame the wall without competing with its vibrant tones.
For materials, smooth powder-coated metal, tinted glass, and polished stone surfaces complement the sleek, digital-era aesthetic of the artwork. If you introduce wood elements, lighter finishes like pale ash or mid-tone timbers offer a balanced foundation that allows the warm red and yellow gradients in the wallpaper to stand out clearly.
Colour combinations
The wallpaper features a vivid palette including sunset red, rich orange, bright yellow, cobalt blue, lilac, and pale sky blue. To build a cohesive room scheme around it, we recommend drawing from the quieter neutral tones or cooler shades present in the motif.
For surrounding walls and woodwork, soft cool grey, muted slate blue, or an understated off-white will keep the overall room calm and allow the mural to take centre stage. Alternatively, introducing smaller decorative accents in deep ultramarine or burnt terracotta can subtly echo the most saturated areas of the print.
