Wallpaper - Scintilla, Blue Haze

Our Scintilla, Blue Haze wallpaper brings an ethereal, atmospheric quality to the wall through soft layers of muted sky blue and cool grey-blue. What we particularly like about this design is the delicate drift of fine stippling and brushed horizontal motion, resembling misty cloud layers, drifting sea fog, or fine ripples across still water. The low-contrast palette creates a gentle, continuous movement that enlivens a room without commanding all the attention. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, our wallpapers are easy to hang and bring an understated, tactile depth to everyday interiors.

In the room

Because the contrast is gentle and the horizontal motion flows seamlessly across wide expanses, we see this design working beautifully across an entire bedroom or living room rather than being restricted to an accent wall. In a bedroom, wrapping all four walls creates a quiet, cocooning environment where the subtle variations in tone shift gently as morning daylight shifts to softer evening lamps. In an open-plan living area, it establishes a cohesive backdrop that connects different zones without overwhelming furniture or art. The muted blue-grey balance also suits a home office or reading room, where you want visual interest that remains quiet and composed. For higher-ceilinged spaces or wide, uninterrupted feature walls behind a bed or low-slung sofa, the soft horizontal currents lend a grounded sense of calm.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this wallpaper with simple, sculptural silhouettes and natural materials that echo its organic flow. Darker wood furniture, such as walnut or stained ash, provides a rich, grounding counterpoint to the pale blue mist of the walls, while brushed bronze or blackened steel accents offer clean definition. When selecting upholstery and window dressings, heavier woven wools, slubby linens, and soft boucle in off-white or charcoal introduce tactile warmth without competing with the fine stippled pattern of the paper.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a quiet foundation of hazy powder blue, soft slate, and pale pebble grey. To complement these cooler tones, warm off-white, chalky ivory, or pale bone on surrounding woodwork, ceilings, and skirting boards keep the space bright without feeling stark. Deeper complementary shades like midnight navy, charcoal, or deep petrol work wonderfully through velvet cushions, rugs, or painted cabinetry, lending depth and visual weight. If you prefer subtle warmth, accents of muted camel, dusty terracotta, or pale ochre introduce a sophisticated contrast against the cool blue haze.
