Wallpaper - Scintilla, Sage Smoke

Our Scintilla, Sage Smoke wallpaper pairs a muted, smoky sage green base with delicate, fluid drifts of stippled micro-dots and gentle tonal shifts. What we particularly like about this design is the quiet movement across the wall; up close, the fine stippling creates an intricate visual texture, while from a distance the pattern reads as an understated, cloudy wash of colour. Printed as a made-to-measure design on paper with a subtle physical structure, this PVC-free wallpaper introduces gentle depth without demanding constant visual focus.

In the room

Because of its low tonal contrast and atmospheric, horizontal movement, we see this design working beautifully across an entire room rather than being limited to a single feature wall. In a bedroom or a living room, wrapping all four walls creates an enveloping, grounded backdrop that sits quietly behind artwork, lighting, and shelving.

In smaller or more compact spaces like hallways and home offices, the fluid, cloud-like bands help soften vertical corners without feeling heavy or closed in. The subtle variation within the sage tones responds well to shifting daylight, revealing the fine dot work in brighter morning light and softening into a quiet, shadowy green in the evening.

Styling it

The muted character of Sage Smoke makes it remarkably versatile to style. We recommend pairing it with warm, natural wood finishes, such as mid-tone oak, walnut, or birch, which balance the cooler grey undertones of the sage green.

For textiles and upholstery, matte textures like woven wool, unbleached cotton, and brushed bouclé work particularly well alongside the wallpaper's delicate visual grain. To keep the interior feeling grounded, subtle accents in blackened steel, aged brass, or deep charcoal ceramics provide just enough contrast to anchor the room.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper itself is built from a restrained palette of muted sage, soft grey-green, and deeper smoky olive tones.

When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and trim, off-whites with a slight mineral or stone undertone create a fresh, seamless transition. For a deeper, more tailored contrast, rich slate grey, charcoal, or dark forest green on skirting boards and doors will frame the wallpaper cleanly. If you want to introduce warmer accent colours through cushions or ceramics, earthy ochre, soft terracotta, or muted mustard create a natural complement to the sage base.
