Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Kasumi Garden, Honey Ochre wallpaper brings together an intricate botanical garden scene set against a warm, gilded honey-ochre backdrop with stylized cloud forms. Dense clusters of blooming peonies, chrysanthemums, delicate wildflowers, and slender bamboo canes rise across the lower composition, framed by dark scalloped borders along the base. The rich interplay of creamy whites, rose pinks, soft blues, and muted greens creates a layered, pictorial character reminiscent of traditional painted screens. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the dense floral work and darker scalloped motifs are anchored along the bottom half of the design, this wall mural works exceptionally well on a main feature wall where the lower detail can be enjoyed up close. In a living room, dining room, or bedroom, we recommend positioning the design along a relatively uninterrupted wall, allowing the tall bamboo stalks and airy cloud formations at the top to breathe.

In rooms with generous daylight, the warm ochre background takes on an inviting golden depth, while softer lamplight in the evening highlights the contrasts between the dark base bands and the pale floral blooms. The composition also suits spaces where low-profile furniture, such as a low sofa, sideboard, or bed frame, sits against the wall without concealing the intricate botanical layers.

Styling it

To let the illustrative detail of our mural wallpapers take centre stage, we suggest pairing this design with quiet, considered furniture. Clean silhouettes and warm, natural wood finishes like teak, cherry, or medium oak complement the golden undertones of the background without competing for visual attention.

For textiles, simple upholstery in unpatterned ivory, warm oatmeal, or deep navy creates a balanced dialogue with the flowers and decorative base borders. Keeping surrounding accessories uncluttered and focusing on matte ceramic vases or understated dark metal accents helps frame the scene naturally.

Colour combinations

Our Kasumi Garden wallpaper is built on a luminous honey-ochre ground, enriched with deep navy-indigo scalloped bands, soft blush pinks, crimson accents, gentle cornflower blues, and creamy whites across the petals and foliage.

When choosing paint colours for adjoining walls, woodwork, or ceiling trims, we recommend drawing directly from these supporting tones:

• Soft off-white or light parchment tones that mirror the creamy blossoms and keep the surrounding room bright.
• A deep indigo or ink blue on woodwork or adjacent walls to echo the scalloped lower border and create an immersive, dramatic contrast.
• Muted warm beige or soft amber hues that blend naturally into the golden field of the sky.
