Wallpaper - Ginkgo Folia, Olive Haze

Our Ginkgo Folia, Olive Haze wallpaper pairs a rhythmic, overlapping pattern of stylised ginkgo biloba fan leaves with a calm, muted botanical palette. Fine radiating linework defines the delicate veins of each leaf, giving the dense foliage an elegant, layered visual texture while maintaining a clean, graphic balance. The composition relies on tonal variations of soft sage, muted olive, and pale misty grey-green, creating gentle depth across the surface without harsh contrast. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it simple and straightforward to hang.

In the room

We love how this continuous, scalloped rhythm brings visual movement without overwhelming the surrounding space. The medium scale of the ginkgo leaves and the subdued tonal contrast make this pattern particularly versatile across different room layouts. In a bedroom or guest room, it works wonderfully across an entire wall behind the headboard, offering a calm, grounded backdrop that softens the room.

Because the repeating fan shapes create an almost architectural cadence, we also see this design working beautifully on all four walls of a compact room, such as a study, dressing room, or hallway. In spaces with ample natural daylight, the subtle shifts between pale grey-green and deeper olive outlines become clearer, while softer ambient lighting in the evening allows the overlapping leaves to settle into a warm, cohesive pattern.

Styling it

The balanced geometry and botanical character of this wallpaper allow it to sit comfortably alongside both mid-century and contemporary interior styles. We suggest pairing it with furniture in warm medium woods like oak or teak, which bring out the earthy warmth of the olive undertones. Keeping larger upholstered pieces in textured neutral fabrics, such as off-white or oat-coloured weaves, helps the leaf pattern remain the primary visual focus of the room.

To complement the fine linework, you can introduce matte black or antique brass accents in lighting fixtures or side tables. This adds subtle definition and echoes the delicate outlines within the foliage without creating competing visual clutter.

Colour combinations

The palette of this design is built on soft olive greens, gentle sage, and pale grey-green mist tones. When choosing paint for adjacent walls, skirting boards, or architectural trim, soft chalky off-whites or pale stone hues create a fresh, seamless transition.

If you prefer a deeper, more enveloping feel, consider bringing out the darker outlines of the ginkgo leaves by pairing the wallpaper with muted moss green, deep olive, or warm taupe on adjacent joinery and doors. For soft furnishings, accents in warm ochre, muted clay, or dusty blush provide an inviting, natural contrast that harmonises effortlessly with the green tones.
